Online Video Trimmer
Downloaded a video but only need 20 seconds of it? Our video trimmer cuts any clip down to size without installing an editor or uploading your file to some stranger's server.
Like our MP3 converter, trimming runs 100% locally in your browser using FFmpeg (open-source) compiled to WebAssembly. Set your start and end points on the timeline, preview the cut, and download the trimmed MP4.
Because the cut uses stream copying where possible, trims are fast and lossless — no re-encoding quality loss, no watermarks.
Powered by FFmpeg (open source) running in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
How to use the video trimmer

- 3
Trim and download
Preview your cut, hit trim, and download the trimmed MP4 — same quality as the original.
Why use this tool
100% private
Everything happens on your device. No uploads, no cloud processing, no account needed — your footage stays yours.
Lossless cuts
Trims use stream copying, so the kept portion is bit-for-bit identical to the original. No re-encoding, no quality loss.
Frame-accurate preview
Scrub the built-in player to find exact cut points, then preview the result before you commit.
Powered by FFmpeg
The same open-source engine behind professional video tools, running in your browser via WebAssembly.
Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded to a server?+
Never. The trimmer loads FFmpeg into your browser and cuts the file locally. Your video never traverses the network.
Will trimming reduce quality?+
No — we copy the video and audio streams directly without re-encoding, so the output is identical in quality to the input.
What's the maximum file size?+
There's no artificial limit, but very large files (1 GB+) need enough free RAM in your browser tab. For typical clips under a few hundred MB, it flies.
Which formats work?+
MP4, WebM, MOV, and MKV inputs; the trimmed output is MP4 (H.264), which plays everywhere.
Can I cut multiple sections?+
Each trim produces one continuous clip. To remove a middle section, trim twice: once for the part before, once for the part after.
